Frequently Asked Questions

We have tried to answer common question below however please feel free to get in touch should you have any other questions or specific questions for us.

What is Sports Massage?

Please see our blog by clicking here

Does it hurt?

Sports massage can sometimes provide some "soreness" due to the deep tissue nature of the massage techniques however, it should not be excruciatingly painful, your therapist will work closely with you to ensure your massage is of maximum benefit but is not a painful experience. Often we use pain scales and will regularly communicate with you to identify areas of tenderness and ensure these are addressed in as comfortable a manner as possible

What should I wear?

Generally loose fitting clothing is best choice for most massage treatments.

If we are working on your back or upper body we would ask you to remove your top however you can obviously keep your trousers or shorts on. If we are working on your Lower body then please wear loose fitting underwear or shorts that can be moved easily, please be assured that where required you will be able to remove your clothing in privacy and will be covered with a large towel throughout your treatments. If you are at all uncomfortable with anything please just say, we can happily answer questions relating to the treatment you are looking for and hopefully provide some reassurance if you have any questions or anxieties.

Should I do anything before I arrive?

  1. Please ensure you have completed your screening questionnaire which will be sent in advance of your appointment.

  2. Drink plenty of water, treatments can often cause fatigue and dehydration or turning up well hydrated will maximise the benefit to you.

  3. Wear loose fitting clothing

  4. Let us know of any anxieties or questions you may have, remember a massage should be a relieving experience it should not be something your anxious about.
